Biograd Lake
A state project opening one of the largest cave systems in the Balkans to visitors, with a new access road, visitor centre and gondola. Around it there is room for food, small lodges and guided interpretation.
Đalovića Cave near Bijelo Polje is one of the largest cave systems in the Balkans. The state has built an access road and a visitor centre, and a gondola will carry visitors to the cave entrance once the electrical connection is complete.
A show cave brings day visitors rather than long stays, so the private opportunity is in what surrounds it: a good restaurant, small lodges, guided tours and interpretation. Combined with the Cmiljača ski resort in the same municipality, it can help Bijelo Polje offer reasons to stay in every season.
€32M budget, about €21.5M invested
The access road and visitor centre are finished; the gondola and the cave's visitor route wait for an electricity connection.
Restaurants, small eco-lodges and guided interpretation around one of the Balkans' largest cave systems.
Small hospitality, food and guided-experience operators.
