Regions
Three regions, three different investment cases
Montenegro is small enough to drive across in a few hours, but its three statistical regions behave like different markets. The coast has the demand, the north has the land and the state's backing, and the centre has the capital.

The imbalance in one sentence
The coastal region holds 86.49% of the country's categorised hotel beds, while the north, home to the Durmitor, Biogradska Gora and Prokletije national parks, holds under 6%. Unemployment runs the other way: 6.7% on the coast against 19.6% in the north. Most of the Government's incentives and public infrastructure spending in tourism are aimed at closing that gap.
