Podgorica Velje Brdo urban district

The location

Velje Brdo is a new urban district planned on the north-western edge of Podgorica, the capital. It is mainly a housing and public-services programme, so tourism investors should look at it as a set of separate opportunities inside a much larger development.

Four visitor segments can be packaged separately: the Crvena Stijena fortress and Megara Cave as a heritage and nature attraction, a sport and equestrian programme, parks and a botanical garden, and hotel, congress, wellness and business-hospitality sites in the central-activity areas. The design is still at concept stage and a public competition is to be announced, so timelines are long and the opportunity is to position early with the master developer.
